Block Explorers are powerful analytical tools that help provide visibility into blockchain activity. K-Block is an attempt to create an explorer for the Kadena Blockchain that includes more data in a digestible, and user friendly manner.
Users shouldn't have to think so hard - the app should offer them flexibility and allow them to mold the app into a way that caters to their preferences. For traders, this means giving them what they need to make informed decisions to identify that perfect entry and exit spot. For newcomers to blockchain, users shouldn't have to search hard for transaction info or other details.

Our goal was enhance and update existing pages to incorporate all of the client's specific requests and ideas. Our objective was to not only ensure these pages were aesthetically pleasing, but also functional for a Beta testing phase afterwards. The design team's collaborative efforts were geared towards preparing the designs for seamless handoff to the development team in preparation for beta testing.
The current page page suffered from visual overload and inefficient use of space, with essential wallet details scattered across multiple pages. By optimizing visual real estate, we could now display asset breakdowns and other essential numerical values.

So how are users feeling? Participants were categorized into 3 key groups based on their experience:
Newbie participants praised K-Block's intuitive interface, clear organization, and ease of use.
Participants noted the helpfulness of popup tips for clarifying unfamiliar terminology.
Overall 52% increase in user satisfaction score from the previous Phase 2 design.
Newbie participants expressed difficulty during at least 1 of the tasks. 3 users suggested we consider more dramatic design solutions in terms of catering to less experienced users
All users expressed interest in a page with educational tutorials, definitions, explanations, and graphics, as well as links to external learning sources.
1 EX2 user stressed the significance of a blockchain explorer recognizing user search input and immediately responding quickly.
After making adjustments, we designed responsive versions of pages for mobile and tablet view. Finally, the design system and high fidelity pages were organized and annotated to ensure seamless handoff to our front-end development team.
As K-Block has met its initial MVP goals and most front-end work has been completed, the next step is to meet with backend developers to understand what information can be pulled. This helps the design team know what is possible when brainstorming future ideas.
